New Voting Information for November 5th General Election

The Constitution of Virginia requires that you be registered to vote in the precinct in which you live, in order to be qualified to vote.

For the convenience of the citizens of Appomattox County, the Voter Registration Office located in the lower level of the Health Department is open each week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 to 11:25 and 12:30 to 4:30.

If you are not currently registered to vote, and in order to vote in the November 5th General Election you must register to vote no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday October 15th 2019.

If you want to avoid an extended wait in line on Election Day make sure your registration information is correct and up to date. REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO SHOW A PHOTO I.D. to vote in this November’s Election.  Call the Registrar’s office if you do not have a photo I.D.

The office will also be open Saturday October 26th and Saturday November 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the purpose of accepting applications for absentee ballots for the November 3rd Election. The last day we can accept an absentee application by mail is October 29th.

You are encouraged to pick up a voter registration application at one of the following locations:

--- Appomattox County Post Office                    --- J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library

Or visit the registration office during its scheduled hours which are shown above. Please call us at the number shown below should you have any questions. Remember, a good citizen registers and votes.
