The Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center & the Appomattox County 4-H Extension Programs, will again, be offering numerous activities.  The Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center has many events & programs for various age groups, see below what is being offered & join in the fun. 

The Appomattox County 4-H Extension Office also has a good variety of after-school & specialty clubs, as well as, events during the year for youth to participate in.   To sign your child up for a program or for information on these & any other programs, please call the Extension Office at 434-352-8244 or e-mail Bonnie Tillotson at btillots@vt.edu.

 

2020 Summer Swimming Classes

Swimming classes are being held at the Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center this summer starting in  June.   For a schedule, to pre-register or for more information you can visit their website at www.holidaylake4h.com or call them at 434-248-5444.

Due to COVID 19 all 4-H Summer Camps will be virtual videos that you can watch from home throughout the summer. For more information register at  https://www.holidaylake4h.com     

 Summer Cloverbud Camp

           Cloverbud Camp is designed to introduce children ages 5 - 8, to the 4-H camping experience. Campers                will experience the fun and excitement of the 4-H camping program by learning new things, singing camp                 songs, and participating in hands on activities.

  Appomattox 4-H Camp

This fun filled week long camp is for youth ages 9 through 13.  For more information on the camp contact the Appomattox Extension Office at 434-352-8244 or e-mail Bonnie Tillotson at btillots@vt.edu.

Interstate Exchange 4-H Club

This club is for members 13-18 years of age.  It is an in-depth learning experience in which 4-H members, leaders and/or staff have a reciprocal host family experience with a 4-H program from another state. For more information call the Appomattox Extension Office at 434-352-8244.

Appomattox 4-H Shooting Education Club

This club meets on various days including Thursday evenings & Sunday afternoons.  Members learn safe firearm handling & proper shooting techniques.  Disciplines include:  BB, Air Rifle, Air Pistol, Archery, Muzzleloader, .22 & Shotgun.  For more information call the Appomattox Extension Office at 434-352-8244.

Appomattox 4-H Horse & Pony Club

Open to ages 9 & up.  This is an active club that learns about care, riding & showing of horses.  Club meets monthly on different dates.  For more information call the Appomattox Extension Office at 434-352-8244.   

Appomattox 4-H Livestock Club

Livestock covered will be cattle, goats, sheep & pigs.  Members will learn proper care of & how to show their animal.  Open to ages 9 & up.  This club meets on the 3rd Monday of the month, with extra dates TBA.  Please call the Extension Office at 434-352-8244 if yo are interested.

Fun With Foods

This after-school program is for those who enjoy cooking & would like to learn some new skills.  Open to ages 9-13, meetings will be held on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.  The classes will end in May.  The cost for this program is $7.00 per class to cover food & cooking item expenses.  Please call the Appomattox Extension Office to register at 434-352-8244.

Appomattox 4-H Handbell Club

Members in this club will learn to read music & play handbells & chimes.  There will be a minimum of 2 public performances.  This club meets Wednesdays, after school, at the Appomattox Courthouse Presbyterian Church (behind AMS).  Youth must be at least in the 4th grade.  Please call the Appomattox Extension Office 434-352-8244, if you are interested.  Space is limited.
