I'm selling my home and the bank is telling me get a resurvey done. What is this?

A resurvey consists of a licensed land surveyor performing a study of your land and preparing a plat showing the boundary lines of the property. You should be provided a minimum of six plats signed by the surveyor.

These plats, along with a Plat Application, must be submitted to the Department of Community Development for review. Upon the approval of the plat, they must be taken by you, or your agent, to the Clerk of Circuit Court's Office to be recorded. This step is what makes the plat and official document of record.
