One of our priorities concerning solid waste is to reduce the overall amount of materials that are disposed of through recycling.

Recycling turns materials that would be disposed of in a landfill into valuable resources. We currently collect, bale and sell aluminum cans, cardboard, mixed paper, Number 1 and Number 2 plastics and steel cans. We also sell lead acid batteries, scrap aluminum and scrap metal that is collected. We also recycle cell phones, electronics, printer cartridges, rechargeable batteries and textiles which are processed at no cost to the county, saving on disposal costs.

Our goal is to make recycling as simple as possible. We have provided a table listing the items that are recycled and the locations which you may drop off the items. The table is listed under Recycling Quick Chart.

Please see the attendant if you have any questions. The convenience center attendants are trained and knowledgeable concerning what items are accepted, how to prepare the items, what is not recyclable and which locations accept the recyclable materials.
