Children's Services (CSA)

The Children's Services Act (CSA) is a law enacted in 1993 that establishes a single state pool of funds to support services for eligible youth and their families. State funds, combined with local community funds, are managed by local inter-agency teams who plan and oversee services to youth.

A Collaborative, child-centered, family-focused, community-based system of care that effectively meets the needs of youth and their families in the Commonwealth.

FAPT - Family Assessment & Planning Team

The purpose of FAPT is to work as a team along with the family to assess needs and create a service plan for the youth and family.  FAPT is scheduled according to referrals from among the parties below.  To make a referral please email the CSA Director Jeanene Foster.

CPMT - Community Planning & Management Team

CPMT provides local governance to FAPT and the CSA Director. Except for holiday schedules and inclement weather, CPMT meets every 4th Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the conference room of Hope for Tomorrow, located in the Triangle Plaza at 181 Old Courthouse Road, Appomattox, VA 24522.
