Official Voting Information (Press Release, September 26, 2017)

The Constitution of Virginia requires that you be registered to vote in the precinct in which you live, in order to be qualified to vote.

For the convenience of the citizens of Appomattox County, the Voter Registration Office located in the lower level of the Health Department is open each week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 to 11:25 and 12:30 to 4:30.

If you are not currently registered to vote, and in order to vote in the November 7th Gubernatorial Election you must register to vote no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday October 16th 2017. If you need to update your name, or address that will need to be done no later than October 16th also.

The office will be open Saturday October 28th and Saturday November 4th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 r,m. for the purpose of accepting applications to vote absentee for the November 7th Election.

You are encouraged to pick up a voter registration application at one of the following locations:

Appomattox-County Post Office
J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library

Or visit the registration office during its scheduled hours which are shown above. Please call us at the number shown below should you have any questions. Remember, a good citizen registers and votes.

Chap Voting Precinct Relocation:

Voting for Tuesday’s primary election has been relocated from Central Baptist Church to Friendship Baptist Church (located at 127 Woodlawn Trail off of Red House Road/Route 727). Voters will need to bring a Photo ID.  Those who do not have identification may contact the Appomattox Voter Registrar at (434) 352- 5302.
