The proper disposal of waste pesticides eliminates a potential threat to heath and the environment.
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Virginia Pesticide Control Board with participation from the Virginia Cooperative Extension and Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services have implemented a pesticide disposal program. The program assists agricultural producers, golf courses, homeowners, pest control companies and dealers with the proper disposal of unwanted pesticides at no cost to eligible participants.
The pesticide disposal program is supported by pesticide fees collected by VDACS and will be conducted annually in localities within 5 regions.
Completion of a pre-registration form detailing pesticides for disposal is requested for all participants.Eligible participants may contact the Virginia Cooperative Extension office for additional information.
