There are a variety of youth programs being offered in Appomattox County. The programs require pre-registration for classes. Some of the programs ask for payment ahead of time. If you find an activity you are interest in, the link you click on will tell you where to sign up at, when, & how to pay.

2019 Civil War Summer Camp
Children ages 8 to 13 are invited to walk in the steps of a Civil War soldier during two summer camps at Appomattox Court House NHP & the American Civil War Museum in Appomattox. During the month of June, children may participate in one of the two, 2-day camps. Each camp begins at 9 a.m. & ends at 2:30 p.m. The Civil War Summer Camp Dates are June 18-19 for participants ages 8-10; & June 20-21 camp for participants ages 11-13.

Girls Basketball Camp
A girls basketball camp will be June 17-19, 2019 from 9:00 - 1:00 p.m. for children ages 2-6 & ages 7-10 at the Appomattox County High School Gym. The camp will teach basketball fundamentals. Free Fun & Craft Day
Join the staff of the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in Abbitt Park from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for this annual event filled with games, give-a-ways, water attractions, food, drinks & crafts, along with area businesses & organizations. Dress to get wet & bring a light or white colored t-shirt for tie dying.
2019 Summer Swimming Classes

Longwood College Youth Baseball Camp
Longwood University will be holding a baseball camp July 22-25, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Charles Buddy Bolding Stadium. The camp is open to all students grades K-8th. Develop your hitting, fielding & throwing skills with the Longwood Coaching Staff. The day camp will end with a game between campers. The cost is $125.00 per camper. Camp Loud & Clear
South Central Virginia's Overnight Summer Camp for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Children & Youth is a weekend of fun & adventure. Camp will be July 26-28, 2019 & open to children ages 8-13. Raider Wrestling Club
The Appomattox Raider Wrestling Club will hold off season wrestling for all ages through October. Please reference the team Facebook page for details, www.facebook.com/RWCElite. Registration nights for Elementary Wrestling in September will take place at our facility located at 567 Patricia Ann Ln. Pre-School Story & Craft Time
Join the Jamerson Memorial Library staff for pre-school Story & Craft Times on Wednesdays starting at 11 a.m. A staff member will read a simple story to be followed by a craft project that reflects the story. This is a great way to introduce your toddlers to reading & help them gain the skills they will need to enter daycare or kindergarten, teaching them the basics of sharing, socialization & setting up a love of reading & education. Once a month we will try & host a "Mommy & Me Math Moment", as math plays a huge role in learning to read.
