Appomattox 2018 Friday Cheerz

Virginia State Parks
Visit one of our three states parks in the area. Holliday Lake, James River or the new High Bridge Trail State Park. Clover Hill Village Wine Festival

Holliday Lake State Park Kayak Tour

Artifacts In Your Attic
Bring your artifacts from or related to the Civil War to the American Civil War Museum in Appomattox, Virginia to be examined by a panel of local experts. (Please note: evaluators will not offer formal appraisals) Starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Find out what you can do at home to take car of your photos, documents & artifacts. Appomattox Court House National Historical Park Lantern Tours
Join the Appomattox 1865 Foundation at the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park for the Annual Lantern Tours on September 28 & 29, 2018. The lantern tours allow visitors to experience the park in the evening, as the village would have looked back in the mid-nineteenth century. Living History Encampment: Pallas Athena Ladies Aid Society
Join the PALAS living history reenactors at the Museum's cabin as they demonstrate activities that many women of the era did during the Civil War, including hearth cooking, sewing & supply preparation for soldiers. Joel Sweeney 5K Race

James River State Park Fall Harvest Festival & Night 5K Trail Run
Enjoy pumpkin carving & painting (pumpkins will be for sale), candle dipping, apple pressing, face painting, 19th century children's games, an apple slingshot, a candy maze & more on October 20, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wagon rides for $3.00 per person or $8.00 per family, run every hour from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Enjoy the sunset & sip hot cider by the bonfire at 6:30 p.m. when darkness falls, take a spooky trail at the amphitheater.
Merry Main Street Christmas
Join in all the holiday festivities in downtown Appomattox on Saturday, December 1, 2018. The day will start with an Artisan Festival at 10:00 a.m. followed by a full day of events for the entire family. The Christmas Parade will be at 3:00 p.m. Mr & Mrs. Santa will also be in town to greet & take pictures with the children.
