we provide free of charge to Appomattox County Residents:
All Appomattox County residents receive a 12000 lbs. trash
allotment per year for free. Over 12000 lbs.
there is a charge of $50.00 a ton. Recyclable materials
such as mixed paper, cardboard, brush, leaves, or metal do
not count toward the initial 12000 lbs.
All Appomattox County residents are allowed to dispose 5
gallons of used oil or antifreeze per visit, and we also
recycle used oil filters.
Mulch, located at the landfill, when available, is free for
all Appomattox County Residents, Monday thru Friday only.
Please call us for availability.
We are also recycling computers, computer cables, and monitors at the landfill. Damage is acceptable as long as the components have not been exposed to wet conditions.
There are several convenience sites located throughout the county. These sites are designed to accept bags of household waste for Appomattox County residents. Most locations have cardboard, mixed paper, and textile containers that read " clothes & shoes." Textiles are considered to be boots, clothes, coats, curtains, linens, shoes, towels, or any other fabric goods.
Other Services we provide:
Disposal fee for large animals is $25.00. All animal disposals
will be accepted Monday - Friday only.

All drums have to be triple rinsed,cut in half lengthwise
or open on both ends.
We do not Accept:
Tires. Any questions regarding the disposal of
tires should be directed to Emanuel Tire at 352-8889.
Tree stumps. Call Cottontown Environmental Processors, LLC
in Lynchburg at 434-847-5000.
Contaminated Soil Classified as hazardous Waste.
Drums that are not cleaned and open on both ends.
Dioxins.
PCBs.
Free Liquids.
Oil other than to be recycled oil.
Pesticide containers that has not been triple rinsed.
Pressurized fuel tanks or containers.
Regulated hazardous waste.
Sewage and sludge.
