Appomattox County and Nottoway County are currently accepting applications for an individual to serve jointly as an Erosion and Sediment Control Specialist.

This position will be responsible for administration and enforcement of the local Erosion and Sediment Control Ordinance for each locality. Successful candidate will maintain records, file, conduct plan reviews, and perform field inspections. Candidate should possess or have the ability to possess within twelve (12) months the combined administrator certification from the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Candidate should have a combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in environmental science, conservation or related field and considerable experience in conservation work. Valid driver’s license required.

Salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Persons interested in serving in this position should complete a county application at either the Appomattox County Administrator’s office located at 153A Morton Lane, P.O. Box 863, Appomattox, Virginia 24522 or the Nottoway County Administrator’s office located at 344 West Courthouse Road, P.O. Box 92, Nottoway, Virginia 23955. Position is open until filled.
