Appomattox County is served by several exceptional local doctors and dentists. Included in the mix are general family physicians, vision specialists and chiropractors.

More specialized health care is available in Lynchburg and Farmville. Centra Health (http://www.centrahealth.com/) operates three hospitals in the Appomattox area. Two of the hospitals, Lynchburg General and Virginia Baptist, are located in Lynchburg, about twenty minutes west of the Town of Appomattox.

The third hospital, Southside Community (www.sch-farmville.org/), is located in Farmville, about twenty five minutes east of the Town of Appomattox.
